I am Ramón y Cajal researcher, pending official appointment as CSIC Staff Scientist, at the IPBLN-CSIC, where I lead the malaria epigenomics group. I did my PhD at the University of Barcelona. As a postdoc, I spent 3 years at the CNRS (France), funded by a Marie Curie European Fellowship; 2 years at the IBE-CSIC (Spain), with a Juan de la Cierva contract, and 3 years at Emory University (USA).

As a PI I have been awarded with the “Leonardo” fellowship from the BBVA Foundation, and we recently got one of the prestigious Health research projects by “La Caixa” Foundation.

I coordinate the “Women in Malaria” community and the Equality and Diversity commission of my institute.
